This site is probably about six miles southeast of Hastings in Adams County. Many sources agree on its identity and location as a stage stop for the L. & P.P. Express Co. and C.O.C. & P.P. Express Co. and as a relay station for the Pony Express. George A. Comstock served as stationkeeper of the long, one-story building, named after the distance between it and Fort Kearney. (NPS)
