Moncure Conway wrote from East St. Louis, advising Sam’s letter “overtook us here.” They had been “festivising” in many cities, and had more traveling to do, expecting to be in NY in Nov. “It will be a very great pleasure if we can pass a day, or maybe two, with the new baby—of course I don’t mean to despise his parents, company too.
