Theodore De Laguna’s article, “Mark Twain as a Prospective Classic,” ran in Overland Monthy p.364-67: Tenney: “Praises MT as a story-teller rather than novelist, his style ‘historically…of infinite import. Aesthetically, it has been seriously undervalued.
