The Clinton House was a prominent 19th-century hotel in downtown Iowa City, located on the southeast corner of Clinton and College Streets. Opened in 1855 by George Andrews, it was a central hub for visitors and hosted notable figures until it was tragically destroyed by a massive fire on March 18, 1872.
