Sam’s canceled the second lecture for Jan.11, principally because the Evening Star had published a synopsis of the first lecture [MTL 2: 153n2]. He also wrote to the Morning Chronicle and the National Intelligencer, advising him of the canceled lecture [MTL 2: 153-4].
