November 25 Thursday — Thanksgiving Day — In Hamilton, Bermuda Sam joined the Allen family at Bay House for Thanksgiving dinner. He enjoyed it so much there that he stayed with them for the remainder of his Bermuda visit [D. Hoffman 135].
Sam inscribed a copy in Extract from Captain Stormfield’s Visit to Heaven to Helen Schuyler Allen. “Helen Dear. This story was told me by Captain Stormfield and is probably all true for he had been a sailor 65 years and could not lie. . . love. S. L. Clemens. November 25, 1909” [MTP].
