London Evening World sent a telegram to Sam: “How do you feel approaching the land of the free after your pleasant experience with royalty and the nobility   please answer our expense” [MTP].

Sydney Layland wrote from the S.S. Minnetonka at sea to thank Sam for his book and program with signature [MTP].

New York Times sent a telegram (before July 21) to Sam: “Welcome back please telegraph by Marconi our expense all about your trip how it feels to be a learned doctor” [MTP].

Captain Prehn sent a telegram to Sam: “Capt Prehn of the Grosser Kurfurst wishes to send his kind regards and best wishes” [MTP].

Norman Woolcock wrote on S.S. Minnetonka notepaper to thank Sam for his “splendid present signed by yourself” [MTP].

The London World sent a telegram to Sam before and on July 21: “The World congratulates you on remarkable triumph abroad / public would be greatly interested wireless message from you perhapson funniest incident your voyage favour of reply our expense greatly appreciated” [MTP].  The second telegram: “Favor of reply to message respectfully urged/ The World”
