Elizabeth L. Howard wrote from Anoka, Minn. to wish Sam birthday greetings as her birthday was the same. Her husband was an 80 year old disabled veteran of the Civil War from Michigan [MTP].

John I. Raymond wrote to Sam, feeling that his letter of complaint of Nov. 19 had “gone astray,” and enclosed a copy. Raymond was the son of the late John T. Raymond, actor who played Col. Sellers [MTP]. Note: in his previous letter John had complained that Sam had besmirched his father’s character in the Autobiography.
